My Latest favourite action Movie are:
i)The Dark Knight
This is one of My Favourite Action Movie of last yrear, Even though it isn’t a straightforward action film, The Dark Knight is intense from beginning to end. It rarely lets up, and there are some amazingly memorable action sequences, most notably the car/truck chase scene that results in Batman flipping a semi on its top. I don’t think I need to explain myself further.
ii)Iron Man:
The film reigned the box office and critical arena for two months before DC finally upended Marvel, but that shouldn’t diminish the surprisingly high quality of the Jon Favreau film. Despite great previews and a lot of buzz, I was skeptical as to whether a director who had never handled a large budget could make a movie about a tin man work, but my skepticism vanished quickly. Strangely, the movie doesn’t have as much as action as one would expect (I so wish that Afghanistan attack would have gone on for longer), but it still has the perfect bland of thrills, laughs and visual effects.
iii)Wanted:
The hit Angelina Jolie action movie would have ranked higher - but it was just a tad overrated. The movie is entertaining, at times hilarious and also full of action, but it didn’t always click on all cylinders. Still, Wanted is a blast and belongs in any action fan’s arsenal of DVDs or Blu-Rays. Even though Jolie looks good in just about every movie she’s in, she looks especially hot here.
Very good choices (though I've yet to see Quantum of Solace). If it counts, then I'd add The Dark Knight, and Iron Man was a lot of fun too. I've avoided Wanted, largely because I object to adaptations that have nothing in common with the source, and it doesn't really look like my kind of thing anyway...

Before watching Quantum of Solace I recommend viewing it as literally the second half of Casino Royale, the action orientated full second half of Casino Royale. I think a lot of people were disappointed with it as a follow up Bond film. If that makes sense? I viewed it that way and enjoyed it immensely.
I recommend the French action film Nid de guêpes/The Nest, from 2002, it was what the remake of Assault on Precinct 13 tried to be but failed miserably. If you liked the original Assault on Precinct 13 then you should love this film, it follows the original Carpenter film closely but still comes out an entertaining action film.
Another French film, especially if you like Parkour/Free Running, is Banlieue 13/District 13, some amazing set pieces involving free running. Apparently a lot of the stunts in this film didn't use computer effects or wire work!! WOW. The sequel is out in France at the moment.
Gender: Male Location: Bringing forth the apocalypse
Aye, Taken was pretty good. I would personally say that the Bourne franchise is easily the highest quality action picture of the last bunch of years; it's stylish, gritty violence together with the adrenaline-pumping chases and fast fights is the template for the modern action picture, although the shaky-cam was criticized by some circles. Think about it: Bond-Craig and Taken both had fine action sequences, but their very style was highly inspired by the Bourne films. And these ones still do it better, anyhow. The plot is brilliant, too. Sure, it's not the most dramatic or intelligent one, but the plot twists and the sheer complexity of the thing was awesome. Ultimatum's ending is still one of the greatest things in modern action history.
That being said, though, movies like TDK and Casino Royale succeed better on the deeper level. Casino Royale was both intriguing and emotionally compelling, and TDK succeeded in creating an incredibly dense plot that is layered with thought-provoking themes and ideas. Both fuse this with sheer grit and stylishness.
Both are as good or better than any of the Bourne films, but those are simply the better 'action' movies.
My latest favorite action movie would have to be Iron Man. I can not stop watching the movie. Every time I watch I notice something different about it.
