Darth Tyranus can't kill some pirates without his lightsaber, the Chosen One stalemates a drunken pirate and has difficulty in CQC with a sissy senator, Yoda almost has a hernia when lifting a pipe in AotC, Maul gets his ass kicked by a dog, Obi-Wan gets pummeled in CQC by like two nameless Mandos, Grievous gets humiliated by Gungans, the Chosen One again has difficulty blowing open a door with TK in LoE, etc. So why does the PT era suck? Are they just naturally weak, or are their feeble abilities simply a product of the circumstances of their time period?
Onscreen always tries to align more with the movies but it still shows some interesting stuff like for example two Inquisitors holding back the engines of the Phantom.

Because not making Force Users gods is far more interesting than the literal shit like the current TOR storyline.
Arcann and Vaylin being powerful makes them worse ****ing characters, I don't understand what the problem of so many EU writers is with making good characters.

Jokes aside, that's Canon, where the PT/OT eras are essentially the only that exist. So comparing it to Legends is silly. I expected better from you Joker.
You do realize that this would mean that Bane sucks too, right?

Uh, how exactly? If they weren't powerful it would be kind of stupid and there'd be no tension in the story. They're supposed to be threats that can suppress the entire galaxy, with the Outlander being the only one capable enough to stop them. If they sucked it'd just be like, why didn't the Jedi/Dark Council **** them up immediately? Why should we give a shit about stopping a pair of feebs?
A character's quality depending on how powerful or weak they are is subjective
For me?
Depends on the setting and story
Powerful characters can be good and weak characters can be shit
Vice versa holds true too
Whether Arcann/Vaylin are good characters isn't dependent on their power, but if they possess or lack any other sort of defining traits. If they're just a bunch of stats, then obviously they're lacking in character *shrugs*
That said, know **** all about them
And anyone with super powers in Star Wars generally gets poorly written for the sake of plot in combat regardless of era anyway

The Pt era would stomp a mud hole in the Ot era which is the weakest era to date in canon. And in the films this fanboy wet dream that only that best feats matter and any notion that anything less than is pathetic only exists in their warped minds.
