I'm in some serious trouble

Allright, lets go back to yesterday when I was meeting at my church for a play practice. We were practicing hard, and I did great. After the practice was over, I got bored and started playing around with props. I took this big white tube and started swinging it around hitting a little peice of plastic. Well one time I hit it I slugged across the room. (We were in a big room, with tables covering half of the room.) I couldn't find the piece of plastic after I smacked it, so I pick up a christmas ornament laying upside down on one of the tables. One of the kinds that are light, hollow,and round, that you hang on trees. Anyway I pick up my big tube and slugged away at the ornament. Honestly I didn't know what I was thinking. I was acting like a complete idiot. Lucky for me it smacked up against the side of the wall but it didn't break. I let out a sigh of relief. Then when it came down on the ground it shattered into a lot of little pieces. I was thinking "Oh crap." I briskly walked away from the scene where it happened. It was a pretty big room with tile and tables so nobody saw what I did. Anyway, I went home and thought all was well. Then I got up went to school, and after I got back I heard something terrible. My church also has a preschool program going on in it. And that day the preeschoolers were out running around in the room (right before they take their naps), anyway, this preeschooler walks all the way across the big room, and from what I heard, standed behind a tablecloth on a table so he couldn't be seen, and ate two, I mean TWO peices of the ornament. They said after being called for two minutes he didn't come, and the preschool teacher found him suffocated in his own blood. (The jagged edges on the glass must've ripped his throat.) Anyway this is a huge tradgidy, because I live in a small town and they're probably gonna make a HUGE scene about it tommorow in the paper. I'm just wondering, theres no way I could get in trouble for this right? I mean wouldn't it be the teacher's fault for lack of supervision. Or at least the dumb kids fault for eating the stupid thing. I didn't mean to kill the poor kid. I feel really sick and I missed school today. Can someone help me out?

and first of all...the kid should have known better not to eat foreign pieces of stuff off the ground...

and YES you should feel bad...but I know if it was me I wouldnt confess until it looked like it was going to come down on me... i know thats bad...

but this kids parents could sue you or the church or.. i mean the trouble can get a lot worse

maybe you should of cleaned up the mess of the ornament or told someone after you did that...

the parents could sue the church and if they knew you had anything to do with it they could sue your parents (assuming you are still a minor, they cant sue you)

No one knows I did it, and I feel pretty bad that a kid might die because I didn't want to take responsibility for that stupid ornament.

Ok now it's time to suck it up and act like a man. You know you're responsible for a certain part of this, otherwise you wouldnt have stated that you were acting like and idiot, nor would you be suffering from the guilt you currently have. I highly suggest you tell you parents at least. Good luck.

well then dont say anything until you are 21 - and have been out of the house for awhile... and just bring it up one day to your parents "remember that time that kid ate some glass.... yada yada yada" by then it wont be so bad...

You did the wrong thing and someone was indirectly hurt by your actions. Exactly what kind of help do you expect to receive from posting this?

That is terrible, I hope the kid lives. If that was me, I would eventually tell from feeling so bad. If you do, you'd better watch out for when he comes of age, because he will find you and get revenge.

Woah man...thats freaky. If i were in you're position i'd be under my bed like a chicken. I think you shouldnt say anything until u know hes ok...maybe till then try and think of some ways to address your parents about it without them going skitz.

Sounds terrible, and unfortunate series of events which, sorry to say, you are to a degree the cause of. I doubt that you could get jail time for an accident, and if your a minor it would be even harder. However, I must agree with he possibility people might sue, and really, sorry again, I think it is unfair that the teacher and Church take all the blame. I say fess up, we all do stupid things as kids, but sometimes we just have to take responsibilities for our actions, and take the rap.
