going by how that instance played out, it seems to me like the guardian let prime to grab him, so that he, in turn, could grab prime. that's probably why none of the other guardians did a damn thing to try and stop prime when he made the grab. they must've known his plan to sacrifice himself.
the guardians clearly said that if prime survived, he would be warped into the multiverse. they well knew the latter was a very plausible option, and never once banked on prime being absolutely vanquished. the only intent for that blast was to remove prime from the universe [which it technically did].
1. There is no real reason to think that the Guardian let SMP grab him IMO. They may have known of the Guardian's plan, but SMP was on-panel manhandling the Guardian, and the Guardian only held SMP close enough for the explosion.
2. IF he survived, including his death as possible as well, but his full power could not kill SMP, so he was warped into the Multiverse instead.
prime grabbed the guardian [who did not resist at all], guardian grabbed prime, words were exchanged, guardian detonated.
anyhow, i'm not saying that the guardian held prime for hours - however, the fact still remains that until the guardian went all kamikaze on prime, he was being physically held against his will.
and his being warped into the multiverse was something they knew could very well happen. meaning, it wasn't any kind of surprise when he became exactly what they predicted he could become. like i said, the blast did what it was originally intended to do [ie. get prime out of that universe].
1. The Guardian was at SMP's mercy until the Guardian revealed what he wanted to do, then grabbed SMP by the wrist and held him just long and close enough to detonate with SMP in the blast radius.
2. I know, but they also knew he could die as well, and if he did not, he would be warped in the Multiverse.
the guardian obviously knew beforehand what he needed to do in order to rid the universe of prime. it was a plan that the other guardians were obviously aware of - which again, would account for them not lifting a finger to try and get their brother out of prime's grip.
it was all planned. thus, prime grabbing the guardian by the throat in that instance, isn't overly impressive, imo.
regardless, prime was still held against his will [unless you think he wanted to be broken down at the atomic level?] the amount of time he was held is not want i've been debating.
right. i'm just saying the end result of the kamikaze attack was never 100% known [even to the guardians themselves]. he could have either died, or been warped into the multiverse. so saying the blast was meant to kill prime, is incorrect. it's original intention was, again, to simply remove prime from the universe.
Gender: Male Location: Hiding from The Doctor, shhhh.....
Even if Prime's survival was a possibility, nobody predicted it as the higher probability. And no one could have called that Prime would not only survive, but use the blast as a power boost. It's a huge feat any way you slice it. How many guys could take a blast like that and not only survive, but take no damage and actually ampe themselves from it?
............Besides Doomsday.
Anyways,
And if I may add, DING DONG, THE WITCH IS DEAD! is gone. (please log in to view the image)
And lo, a light shone down upon the forums.
