Look around, there are PLENTY of films worth seeing. Mainstream and indie.

Of course there are but there is an equal amount of movies NOT worth seeing so for the sake of a good conversation i didn't see why i wouldn't ask for a few referrals ya know? haha.

do you have a particular indie movie you think i should check out?

Theres been a lot of movies made this year that are for sure worth seeing. These you should see in the theaters.
Yes Man
Frost/Nixon
Revolutionary Road
Milk
Doubt
Austrailia
Gran Torino
The Changeling
The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons.
and a few during the summer-great flicks
Iron Man,Lakeview Terrace and The Dark Knight.
some have already passed so you obviously cant see them all
but you should at LEAST make sure and see
-Gran Torino,Frost/Nixon and
The Changeling when it comes out on video. smile

oh and a couple others I just saw on video for the first time I would highly recommend are Stalin with Robert Duvall and The Nuremburg Trials with Alec Baldwin. These were HBO movies made like in 2000 or so.

Yeah, i've seen the Rocker. I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. If you don't mind the more lighthearted comedies you should like it. It's an un-offensive movie that doesn't try to do anything other than offer a good time. I thought Dwight and the rest of the cast did a good job. Especially considering that teen actors usually ruin an otherwise good movie for me.

You should definitely give Wackness a watch. Not only is it a good movie but it captures that era brilliantly. You don't have to be a fan of hip hop to enjoy the movie either.

Let me know how these movies faired with you after you watch them.

Obviously you wont be able to see Batman or Ironman in the theaters.will have to see them on DVD when you can but like i said, you should at LEAST see Gran Torino and Frost/Nixon while they are still in the theaters.Wish i could say the same thing about The Changeling but its not in the theaters anymore so thats another when it comes out on video I highly recommend to see for sure.myself I dont have any desire to see the movie you mentioned.

I recommend I've Loved You So Long, very good film and the lead Kristen Scott Thomas didn't get a nomination at the Oscars which is just terrible.

I have never heard of this "changeling" movie but ill check it out when ita available for renting. I keep hearing Gran Torino was great, Even though i also hear the kid in the movie ruins it. Even tho your not interested the "Unborn" is a decently scary movie when compared to the others that have come out lately so if you ever decide to check it out its worth a rent.

okay I'll give it a chance and oh man,you got to see The Changeling. It stars Angeline Jolle in it.Im not much of an Angeline Jolle fan but she gave an amazing performance in the movie.I would have to say its one of my top 20 favorites of all time.I made a thread of it that I think is on page two here now.you should google in the movie as well so you'll understand what its about. Its a true life story.I'll tell you that much and I got to say that Gran Torino has got to be one of Clint Eastwoods best movies so far to ever come out.I would definetely put it in the top 5 of my favorite Eastwood movies of his.He gives the best performance ever I have ever seen him give in this movie. He makes the movie a riot.I was laughing so hard over some of his lines he delivered so well.Ironically he directed both this movie and The Changeling. He has really become an excellent director over the years and has gotten much better with age.

The last few trips to the cineplex for me were rather disappointing (Gran Torino, The Reader) however I am travelling there in about 5 min. to watch The Wrestler which should break the streak. If it does not I'm going to be incredibly discouraged by movies!
