I don't see how this is very gimped. I forgot that the alien ship's shields are 100% resistant to anything, even Nuke's. Hiller WOULD solo, so I removed them. The ship still has insane skills. Iron Man still defeated Iron Monger and saved the hot babe with his Mark 1 suit.

Isn't the Mark 1 the actual suit/Armour? He used the normal armour but just had a different power source, I can't remember what it was called but let's call it the mini stark reactor...pretty sure he used his less perfective mini stark reactor that couldn't power the suit too well cause it didn't have enough energy or whatever to sustain the mark 3 armour.

EXACTLY. I did the same in mine, I governed their speeds to the same level, and you see the flak I took? Now you do the same, even moreso, and it's all good?

You really don't see the hypocrisy?

You know what? I shouldn't be doing this here. Apologies, Matt.

Sadako, if you want to discuss what I said, feel free to pm me.

Reed Richards was going off of old data/science/theories. That won't happen in this versus match-up: it's just not possible.

We do not have to worry about that atmosphere igniting by something flying through it that is a really hot temperature. Case in point, nuclear blasts are in the tens of millions of degrees, they cover a much larger area than THT could cover. If the atmosphere would have ignited, it would have done it with Nukes.

While you're certainly correct in reality, this is fiction, so it's possible. Richard's is supposed to be one of the most intelligent mother****ers in the movie Marvel universe.

But Torch doing that here on a planetary scale is a no; not because he doesn't have the possibility to, but because he's not shown to be suicidal.

He also made scientific/fact mistakes in the film. Making a claim with old science/theories is well within his character.

Case-in-point, he told him to go "super nova" towards the end of the first film and it didn't cause the atmosphere to ignite.

I believe the theory comes from making the atmosphere hot enough to cause nitrogen to start undergoing fusion.

Richard's said he could ie has the potential to burn out the atmosphere, not that it definitely would happen.

Though when Johnny did go supernova, Sue contained it, no way of knowing how much affect that had.

Either way, suicide is a no go, unless maybe he's mortally wounded and says 'F U, man!'
