Well, I am just not sure I like such an overtly negative thread. I am keeping a close eye on this one.

Would Cheech and Chong movies count? They are successful(on some level, I suppose) but are really bad. They made like six or seven of them, and they should have stopped after the first one.

What about Independence Day? I watched that at a friend's house once. Or what about Mars Attacks! Both follow the same type of aliens coming to America formulae.

Independence day was better but Mars attacks! was a movie that had many celebrites(even not so famous)getting killed left and right. It was just to boring for me.

But at least they had the perfect First Family. Jack Nicholsan as the President and Natalie Portman as his daugter! And James Earl Jones makes an appearance as the General, also!

You know what? All big budget movies now adays suck. Hollywood is more concerned with making money, than making a good movie.

But stupid people keep going to stupid movies, so they will keep making them.

Titanic is one movie which made millions, but I can't truly understand why?

First, The whole sinking boat thing is only interesting when the actual sinking is happening. This leaves 3/4 of the movie pretty unexciting. Once you've seen it, you don't really want to see it again.

Second, the supposedly love story in the movie is not all that romantic. Come on, what's romantic about cheating your man. At least have the decency to tell him you don't love him anymore before you look for someone else. She even makes love on the first date. Tramp.

Lastly, I couldn't believe this movie topped the charts when it doesn't really cater to people of all ages. specially kids. Top grossers normally cater to the family.

But alas, it is no. 1.
It's probably all the hype surrounding it.
