without Genis even realizing it.

It was started on a message board that is no longer around. The name escapes me, but a poster named Elrahprime started it. He has been on Herochat at one point. The list got started because a Marvel poster was saying that Marvel had way more abstracts/cosmic types than DC, so Elrahprime started the DC hierarchy to prove him wrong.
IIRC, DC's list had a little bit more meat on it, but was around the same.
