Not you but I have seen lots of marvel fans talking about thor, ss or sentry challenging Galactus as if there was no context behind those showings.
Now is ok if you only think this Superman is merely 100 times stronger, but you are missing the on panel evidence that a full out superman was dropping probes like fleas and that a sun dip will make him 100 times stronger.
Now weather superman gets "build up" on his stories is not like he is the only one who suffers from it (see Silver Surfer, Thor or Hulk) go and see a thread with surfer on it and see how many times aegis and tenebrous are brought up and no one complains about the "build up"
Superman has the feats to back the claims weather prople like it or not. It is on the comics and is part of his canon. The people having trouble digesting this fact, should complain to the writers instead of crying how bad the superman fans are, We are just bringing up facts that are part of his canon history, nothing more nothing less.
It reminds me of an old web site that i used to visit. People in general thought superman was just weak sauce because of the Byrne power down myself included, then some people came along and start posting scans of the things superman has done in comics. And oh surprise the forum starts realizing that Superman is no longer on Byrne power levels, then for some reason since this knowledge shakes established hierarchies a lot of marvel fanboys start b1tching about the superman fans.
That is what is happening here.

With all the bitching and whining that people do about Superman today, imagine how it'd have been if the Internet as we know it was around during the Silver Age!!

Given the chance, an attack from this Superman would inflict damage to Galactus--I agree with that. I'm just not sure exactly how extensive the damage would be; ergo the ambiguity of my post.

But yeah silver age Superman will have caused major butt hurt online.
I should read some important silver age stuff for Superman. I already have my list or important arcs for silver age superman, considering superbaby lets see how much butt hurt grown up superman will cause
