Same goes for a GL. They have been known to create armies with their rings. Even connected constructs should be limited to like 10-15 or something like that.

But if you take out a GL, I'm pretty sure his constructs go, too. You kill Shaman, his rock guys keep fighting.

Honestly, if people would just look at the conditions that a GL, Quasar, and Shaman have to meet in order to create constructs/golums I think everyone would realize that this isn't that big of an issue. 😬

The only thing Khell and I are arguing against is having 3 little construct creations with independent thought protected by the same rules as drafted characters. Anything else is a completely separate issue.

😈 hehehe

I think independent Quasar constructs, if TRULY independent, should be included in this idea. If not, then it doesn't apply.

That's the thing. Ban the golems, then the constructs come up. Ban magic, and Thor comes up. Pretty soon we're giving ourselves more trouble than we need.

You guys are making this WAY harder than it needs to be. The golems aren't consequential enough to be a huge factor. If Blair/newjak were going to win or lose, the golems won't be the deciding factor....bigger sh*t will. No one nit-picked me about Loki's sentient dragons making it more than the 1-v-1 amalgam battle last time. And I obviously didn't win the tourney because of it. If you have a large-scale gripe, fine. But no more dissecting Shaman's bag of tricks to try and make him a parlor magician.

We have the number limitation on them. That's as far as I'm going.

And Shaman's been in for a while. Please live with it. I'm not entirely happy with magic but to retcon all magic now would be disingenuous to the whole tourney process. Now everyone should just go make a sweet strategy with their own people so it doesn't matter if there's magic or not.

Uhh, what? I don't WANT to ban constructs, OR Shaman, or ANYTHING. No one is arguing that O_o. My point is, giving them the same protection that you do the team members who made them breaks one of YOUR OWN RULES. It basically makes it an eight member team. It doesn't MATTER if they're inconsequential, or dumb, or weak. They move on their own, attack on their own, and are protected as if they were part of a team. That is unfair.

Exactly. If we have more constructs capable of independent movement and independent thought, that's essentially like adding more characters to the fight thus breaking the 3 vs. 3 rule.

He DID address the issue you guys were talking about 😐

Hmmm Eth was on today....not sure why he didnt pick a second character.

We really need our eighth team to get a character AND a partner 😬

That doesn't address the point we're making. At all. All he did was simply repeat what others have said, that since they're weak and dumb, they don't matter. But they DO matter, I don't care how strong they are or aren't, as of now they are getting treated like five more members of the team.

Exactly. ✅ Either leave them out completely, or add five other brick characters to the opposing team (or use some kind of power outside of the power cap). ✅

It's not that we want him completely banned, it's just that we want some of his powers banned.

Why waste time neutering him ?

Because it's already been awhile since Newjak and Blair drafted him. They've worked their ENTIRE strategy around having him as one of their characters. It really wouldn't be fair to them if we completely ban him all together. 😬

Proceed.

You're trying to find grey areas here. The power caps have been SET.

Dude you're wrong... Transmutation is perfectly within the rules to be used on anything that isn't an opposing team member.... otherwise teh rock guys could never be created in the first place

I realise a lot of you don't know me.... but here's my interpretation:

Shaman's rock guys = fine, because they're fairly slow and even the X-Men can put them down (you guys are using herald types for craps sake)

Matter Manipulation is allowed under the conditions that it isn't used directly on the opposing teams characters - there are no limits about using it to transform anything else in, on or above the battlefield

Rock guys, GL or Quasar constructs are not team members - therefore you can transmute them into dust whenever you want (if you can prove that your guy can do that to begin with)

Battle Field Removal (BFR) is banned under all conditions whether it be of characters, constructs or aspects of the location itself

Shaman is limited to how many things he can have running around and they don't seem like that much of a problem anyway (so far)

Digimark tells us about another tourney featuring dragon constructs.... and how they didn't seem to help at all - they obviously weren't banned there .... and most of the limits seem to have been the same for that tourney as they are for this one

If i was in this i wouldn't have a huge problem with anything that's been mentioned up 'til now

Well.... Master Dan must leave you all now (as i only had access to this computer at work for this week)

I'll be returning to post with my regular account when i get home

😛

see ya later b!tches

Actually, he PM'd me, saying that KVD and Khell would be taking his team's spot.

I'm fine with it, but asked him to confirm it again in case he had changed his mind. In the meantime, Khell and KVD have Black Bolt, and are welcome to make another pick.
