Taking Sentry's punches and actually delivering what would be a killshot to a normal character (adamantium axe to the stomach would down or KO even Thor IMO)

A great fictional warrior character killed by the greatest fictional overpowered punk ever (even SBP seems far more likeable now...)
Comicfan, it takes me back to the days when Ares had some decent appearances in Thor. It was a decent way to go for Ares I suppose, though he was not able to do a god damn thing. If he at least had accomplished something before being taken out, it would have felt a LOT more satisfying. We saw him take on MIKABOSHI in his own mini-series and we've seen him give Thor trouble. He seemed like a credible threat to Nate Grey in Dark X-Men.
This is no way to go for a character like Ares. Though I am glad he put up something of a fight.
Its pretty obvious next issue will probably end with stark jumping on Osborns ass. I am curious as to what happens between Thor and Sentry. Also what else does Loki have planned. Loki has always been a character that has a second scheme lined behind the first. Does he have an endgame planned or is he banking on this ruse to fail but since he warned of the invasion he comes out all the cleaner for it? Also what of Namor and the X-men? With Steve back I would have guessed this would cause the atlanteans to jump in( especially because of the incident where Sentry went through them like a hot knife through butter). There are a lot of side factors to consider with this invasion but unfortunately its Bendis thats writing this.

I agree he should give Sentry more of a fight.
BUT.
Sentry has Super Speed.
And yet he failed to take Ares down even when he suckerpunched him.
Ares took those hits like a true warrior and wasn't koed not even for a moment.
And if Sentry was not voided out as evidenced by the tendacles coming out from the wound that Ares caused with his axe, he could probably loose the fight.
Ares did cut him a big hole with his axe.
But the Void-Sentry can't be taken out like that it seems.

The more I think about the way this invasion could go the more it become clear how stupid osborn is. In one corner you have osborn, his avengers, the hoods gang, the dark x-men, and hammer. In corner two you have asgard, the involvement of the new avengers (which lets face it, he should have known it was a good chance they would get involved) the huge possibbility of namor, the x-men and their island of mutants getting involved, Nate Grey currently lurking around, the mighty avengers, Furys side team, the possibility of the involvement of the fantastic four given the stark situation, and Doom feeling like hes been disrespected. Not to mention he knew steve rogers was alive and well because of the red skull incident. Great plan osborn, if you survive this why not try to punch out Galactus next.

It's annoying as I've recently become a fan of Ares after 'God of Fear, God of War' in SW, and then, this happens, no matter how predictable it was.
If Phobos offs Sentry next issue w/ Godkiller I would lol.
All this being said though, Arex suffered kill you dead wounds in his mini and turned out to be fine, and I wouldn't be suprised if Hickman used him in someway in SW again soon.

I actually waited a month to find out who dies, no matter how "obvious" everyone said it was, and now you've literally trashed it. I have to wait until Siege #3 for an unspoiled issue now.

This is why I push for the rule and it still isn't stuck to. I frequent many other boards and the members are always way more respectful with spoilers. Mind you, most of those other boards contain people who buy their comics, so the concept of wanting to wait isn't entirely foreign to them.
