Well guys I have to tell you that this match was really hard for me to judge. I'm not going to write an essay on why I picked who I picked, but here ya go...
The initial posts from the both of you were very well played, but as the posts continued, it seemed as though KK's defense was the key to his strategy... But KK didn't seem to elaborate on the "big picture" as far as what his counters were as much as he could have.
However, from an offensive stand-point, his team left something to be desired.
Blair's overall strategy on the other hand, seemed much better rounded both offensively and defensively. He showed me that his pick was able to shield him from most attacks, and from this point on, he was able to keep KK on the defensive almost the entire match..
(I know it doesn't really matter now, but I'll cast my vote anyway).
Judge's Vote
Both contestants did a good job here and have nothing to hang their heads about. Congratulations to both King Kandy and Blair Wind on a great match.
Blair had an interesting prep strategy that worked rather well for this fight. Kandy couldn't really seem to find a solid way to penetrate BW's defenses and "spots." His offense was also fantastically coordinated. I feel that Kandy relied too heavily on the drones he was making. First of all, if any of those drones were destroyed, it had adverse effects on Rhodes. Second of all, any energy that could've bypassed the spots in front of the Hellfire King was going to be absorbed either by the armor, or Shaw's body. Nothing Kandy conjured up really seemed to be able to work against Blair's character, in my view.
Not to mention, Blair kept Kandy on the defensive for the majority of the debate. I feel BW was more aggressive and better prepared for the fight. Plus, the adaptability in his plan seemed to help also.
I might as well comment about it, just so I don't feel like an outsider... sperm whales, BW?
Anyway, King Kandy did a good job, but in the end, I feel that Blair Wind won this debate.
