IIRC Batman is the same way and he called magic the science of another dimension. Mister Terrific on the other hand always pulls some bullshit techno-babble to explain things like souls and heaven. He may be improving though since he did refer to Darkseid as a Devil God in Final Crisis rather than a "malevolent psionic reverberation" or something like that. I think he might finally begin to understand that not everything has a scientific explanation or he might even understand that there is a rational explanation for everything, its just not always purely scientific.
