And why is this notion that the Star Forge amplifies your Force connections? In fact, it feeds on the dark side energies of whoever uses the Star Forge. Even the Rakata Terminal states that.
So, when Malak fought Revan on the Star Forge; he was actually with lower Force reserves(given that the Star Forge feeds on its wielder's dark side connections)
Malak was actively sacrificing his reserves of dark side energy to power-up the Star Forge and creating droids.
So, Malak was not even at full power on the Star Forge when he lost to Revan. And he didn't amplify himself by leeching those Jedi's life-force off of their bodies. He was simply using Force drain to heal himself.

He has been compared to likes of Exar Kun, Darth Bane, Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, and Darth Krayt.
So, I imagine that he is able to contend with Dooku and Windu. Unless you want to say that being a Shatterpointer and a Vaapad practitioner--makes you a kryptonite. Which I highly doubt of that.
