They just called it Order 66. There was no Order 1-65

Actually there is a code.
Every code has 3 numbers in it:

first digit:
0 = Everybody
1 = Nearest units (this depends of the third digit!)
2 = Selected unit
3 = Nobody
4 = (Drill) no real execution.

second:
0: report in
1: wait
....
6: engage

third:
0: Nobody
1: Separatists.
...
6: The Jedi.

To make it harder for droids to break the code, they often leave 0's away from the message. And should the second digit be 0 or similar action, which needs no object, the last digit is left out as well as it can't contain any meaningful information.

So order: "ALL, ENGAGE, THE JEDI" is typed: 066 -> 66

That was exactly what palpatine was watching, when Anakin stormed in to report about Obi Wan's findings. Palps was looking for right digits, which to send when the time would come...

Obi wan Kenobi called me last night and told this...

That actually makes some sense, which means somebody has too much time on their hands. *shrug*

Maybe the thread can die now. It's been taken to the far extreme excesses of attempted comedy & sarcasm, and it certainly went farther than I would've though as it continued past 66. Maybe that... um... overly thought out post is the final nail in the coffin.

I concur. I hope that by 100 it will be over....... and you are right, a lot of it is attempted sarcasm... some of the "orders" are genuinely funny but others just leave you scratching your head.
