Aishwarya Rai Is 'The Mistress Of Spices'

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai is to star opposite Dylan McDermott in The Mistress of Spices, according to Variety.

The Mistress of Spices is an adaptation of Chitra Divakaruni's novel about an Indian woman who runs a San Francisco spice shop. Her wares seem to have the power to cure her customers' problems, but her magic fades when she falls in love with an American.

Shooting is expected to begin next week with Gurinder Chadha producing and Mayeda Berges directing.
