'The Outer Limits' Gets Top Scribes

The Outer Limits
MGM has hired scribes Douglas Cook ("Double Jeopardy") and David Weisberg ("The Rock") to rewrite the film adaptation of sci-fi anthology series "The Outer Limits," reports Variety.

Project is a high priority for MGM, which hopes to put the bigscreen version of the 1960s TV series into production as quickly as it can, with Rupert Wainwright ("Stigmata") at the helm.

Studio is looking to turn "The Outer Limits" into a feature franchise. Since the '60s, the series has made a return to television on cablers Showtime and the Sci Fi Channel.

MGM originally hired Gerald Di Pego ("Phenomenon") and sons Justin and Zachary to write the feature earlier this year.
