Scribe Jeff Nathanson ("Rush Hour 2") is in negotiations to make his directorial debut with "Providence" for Disney, reports Variety.

Pic is story of a movie director and writer who find a financier for their project only to discover the producer is an undercover FBI agent working on a sting operation involving the mob.

"Providence" was originally inspired by the true story of a sting operation in Providence, R.I., focusing on two mobsters working for the late Mafioso John Gotti.
