The Sum of All Fears

When the president of Russia unexpectedly dies, he's replaced by an unfamiliar regime led by a new president who seemingly harbors hostility toward the U.S. As tensions mount between the two countries, Director of Central Intelligence Bill Cabot looks for insight from young junior agent Jack Ryan, who has little experience but tremendous knowledge of the new president. When a bomb strikes the U.S., America is quick to blame the Russians, and the mistrust escalates despite Ryan's certainty that other players are at work. When a second bomb explodes during the Super Bowl, war seems inevitable....unless Ryan can find out who is behind the attacks and stem the tide of disaster in time.
