Caruso To Direct Jolie And Hawk In 'Taking Lives'

TV helmer D.J. Caruso ("The Salton Sea") will direct Angelina Jolie and Ethan Hawke in "Taking Lives," reports Variety.

Based on the book by Michael Pye, "Lives" is the story of a female FBI profiler assigned to bring in a serial killer that has spent 20 years assuming the identities of the people he's killed.

Jon Bokenkamp wrote the original adaptation, with Hillary Seitz ("Insomnia") writing the latest draft.

Since producer Mark Canton first optioned the material in 1997, the project has attracted talent like director Tony Scott and actors Jennifer Lopez and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Warner Bros. picture is slated for a spring start.
