As opposed to all the furrowed-brow, college-degree-level debating going on in all the other threads, about 'serious' subjects?
Pfft
Batman wins an arm wrestling contest, Riv. I think it's supposed to all come down to technique in the end, isn't it? And if that's the case, then the guy who's mastered five new forms of martial arts in the time it takes to brush his teeth and comb his hair should be ahead.
Stronger bones, stronger muscles, shorter arms, no fatigue...and as a veteran of the army and numerous bars, I'm pretty sure he's familiar with arm wrestling techniques (not as if it's a highly skilled MA lol).
Personally, whilst technique IS important, Bats is hardly going to use the 'Forbidden Dragon Claw Catches Fish' technique, developed by a secret Inuit tribe who do nothing but arm wrestle....am pretty sure Logan too would know all the (three?) techniques out there.
So it would go down to physicals. And whilst they both have strength feats (and I'm going to say they're a wash), Logan has undeniably shorter arms, which would enable him to get the win (plus that HF etc).
Actually, you seem to have it backwards, Ds.
According to how i was taught, the shorter arm is at a disadvantage, as its fighting an uphill battle.
The longer arm can top roll easier, and use leverage to greater advantage.
I looked it up to be sure...
”Arm wrestling is all about leverage,” says Pickup. “And a long forearm will give you an advantage over brute strength”
Too true, although a bit further down that article says:
I was taught that shorter forearms are an advantage because of levers (so the opposite of your teachings lol...goes to show no one is an expert).
So when your opponent is providing a force against your long arms, that's magnified because your forearms are now a longer lever against your elbow/forearms.
Oh, i wasnt claiming to be an expert, or inferring you werent, which is why i linked my source.
For every technique there -will- be a counter technique, thats just sports in general.
My point was, you saying a shorter arm was a physical advantage want in itself isnt strictly true, just coming down to leverage.
Of course, again, there’s Wolvie’s other stats to consider.
Plus, thinking on it , Wolvie’s arm wrestled more than Bats, due to bar time like you said.
All Bats has as sparring partners is his old manservant ('Good heavens, Master Bruce! You have vanquished me once more! Now it's time to go to bed and I will read a story to you') or his sons ('*Tt* you may have won this time, Father, but when I'm 12, then I'll show you!')
