Wrong. Atheism, which includes the non-religious, is growing. And it is more fashionable than ever.

You're allowed to be called a humanist, spiritual, free-thinker, etc. And they are all part of the very broad umbrella of atheism.

The statement, "I believe that there might be something greater than just this material existence" is also part of atheism. But as soon as you qualify the universe as "god", you graduate from the umbrella of atheism to the umbrella of theism. Specifically, pantheism.

Get it, yet?

Now do you understand why I think you're just too stupid to have a conversation with? You're too busy jacking yourself off.

What are your degrees in?

Im not trying to compare credentials, i barely graduated highschool and am autodidactic.

A History degree, Philosophy, Political Science, IT Enterprise Management, and Digital Forensics and Information Assurance.

You can get many non-STEM majors very quickly and most of the classes overlap. However, you have to do it quickly because the "requirements" might change from year to year. It's best to just make a career out of education and get a ton of non-STEM degrees in a short period of time. You will write many many many....many papers. And you have to masturbate the professors' beliefs, in some instances, in non-STEM majors, or you will get flunked. I only pushed my luck on one paper and it was a law class: wasn't worried about the professor throwing a tantrum because I disagreed with her, indirectly, in the paper. She was actually pretty awesome and I enjoyed her class.

In college, I don't have to deal with idiots very often after the first year because they all fail or quit. Also, you are not forced to talk to idiots in real life: you can ignore them. smile

Only took 7.5 years for all degrees.

Agreed, plus I'd also say even if a deity was proven real...for example if Zeus suddenly appeared out of thin air, it would not warrant worship.

I understand what youre getting at. Im saying the vast majority of ther people dont.

A poll has been done where a shockingly high percentage said theyd trust their child with a child molester over an atheist.
Do you think the results would be the exact same if the poll used the term naturalist instead of atheist?

Do you understand what theory of mind is and how it's implication are applicable to this discussion, specifically in relation to the general public and the perception the term atheist vs. Literally any other descriptor for the same qualifying beliefs that would put one in the category of atheism?
Yes or no?

Nothing would warrant it IMO.

On a human to human level, great job on your accomplishments. Your level of education is no small task.
What degree(s) have had the most use in day to day experience?

Your claim you can ignore idiots in real life is immediately defeated by the concept and persistent manifestation of bureaucracy; a side effect of the existence of the state. laughing

In proper scientific polling, you'd get definitions for terms before the poll questions. Do you kind of understand why I think you're too stupid to have proper conversations with? We can't even start the conversation because there is a massive pile of willful ignorance we have to climb over while at the same time, you're too obstinate to rid yourself of it.

So there's no circumstance or situation where any kind of deity would every warrant worship?

Worship, as in a sincere, "Thank you for x" utterance like prayer?

Worship is something that exists as a consequence of faith, not reason.
Faith is dangerous as there is no self correction mechanism to make sure it doesn't evolve into fanaticism.
This would be okay if religious doctrine were adaptable to the modern world, but when you say a book is perfect and written by god, and that same book has incitements for violence, it becomes a timeless recipe for hell.

If religious doctrine werent intrinsically dogmatic, it would be reason and science is a much better apparatus for probing existence.

Okay if you dont like that one look into the polls on 2nd gen british muslims and how they feel about homosexuals, that should allow you to gauge how theyd feel about infidels.

Im not willfully ignorant, just ignorant.

I think what you say has merit otherwise i would ignore you, you must think that of me on some level, or youre masochistic as far as suffering idiots goes.

Alternatively, youre narcissistic and im giving you supply lol

Fixed your post for you.

You're welcome. No need to thank me, though: I don't need your worship.

Arrogance != narcissism. I'm fully aware of and open about my weaknesses and failures and I readily admit when I'm wrong.

Now praise me for understanding the difference. Pat my back some more.

How many innovations have been made through a scientific approach?
How many through applying scripture?

Do you think children should worship their parents?

Ive added my fair share because im weak, but *** for tat is stupid, hence why i try to get back on track by saying i find value in you and your opinion.
You can keep that trend going.
