No, I ruined his life, lost him his job, his family, his friends, his gf, told his landlord and the first time he was a day late with his rent he got evicted

Are you saying it's not about justice? Implying it's to be used only as a form of prevention? It doesn't work that way, law should be to keep order, protect the innocent and provide justice. Sounds a little cheesy the way I word it but you get my point.
