I know, things are so much easier when you don't have a conscience.
Well, no, I don't do that...I crack Holocaust jokes on KMC instead.....most hot chicks don't like my lols about burning people.....Germans are touchy about that subject...weird...one might think we killed millions of people or something...haha.
Obviously this thread was referring to US legislation. In the Uk its not been legalised but each Police officer has the choice of whether the stoner gets nicked or not. In all cases the weed gets confiscated but theyl will only be arrested if certain aggravating factors apply, like:-
1) being smoked in public view(coz lets face it thats taking the piss!!) or around children.
2) if offender is under 18, coz lets face it its a bad habit to get into regularly from a young age(the amount of people I've seen who started at a young age who've developed mental health problems like paranoia and extreme mood swings by their mid 20s is many)
3) if a particularly large amount and evidence of dealing.
4) The person is a repeat offender who has been caught before.
If no factors apply, then they get the weed confiscated and are held repsonsible for the offence on a crime report but doesn't get prosecuted or gets a criminal record.
i think this is just about right because people shouldn't be banged up for possessing a bit of weed but equally we don't want people to take the piss in our country.
legalize it and tax it. It would make it more expensive so the kiddies wouldn't be able to get their hands on it, and the government would have a new (large) source of income. Win/Win IMO.
Not only that, but there'll be less prisoners, less black markets and more freedom. It's like, liberals do know what they're talking about, and do benefit everyone, huh.
Yep, more jail space will be open for those that deserve it.........It would kind of like be alcohol is...........Don't drive and be under the influence......but who cares what a person does in their own homes........just my opinion....
The problem of legalising it just its a "soft" drug is that people will look for the next thrilling/rebellious stage upwards, which is drugs like cocaone/crack cocaine/heroin and all the rest.
In the UK, before crack and coke arrived on a large scale, cannabis was the main naughty thing. Rebels, badboys and general hippies would use it. Now of course, all sorts of people from the upper and middle classes use it, as they do cocaine. But in terms of the kids who try things when they are young, they will start to go for the harder drugs more quickly if cannabis is legal because it will be less frowned upon and rebellious kids love doing things that ARE frowned upon.
