It's clearly that only Plagueis, Sidious and Krayt rival the power of the ancient Sith.

He can't be an ancient Sith. The ancient Sith are the ones on Korriban. Between Kun and Revan's timeline there is not a big time gap. Unless you refer to 'ancient' as TOR.

Kinda weird of him to consider someone a century older than him ancient.

But I propose that the ancient sith are just as powerful as those between them and the Banite line, but simply use the force differently. The way they studied the force back in those days was adjusted to the needs of the period, so it would have highlighted certain ways to use the Force and diminished others.
We know Nadd managed to cause a star to supernova and he wasn't even the most powerful of them, so I'd say they were pretty powerful. But maybe that effort isn't as impressive as it seems because of the way the ancients learned to use the Force. They could cause stars to supernova, but couldn't, as easily at least, use certain other abilities.

Sadow, with the Corsair. A feat Aleema Keto could replicate.
Ragnos, Hord and Nadd are all clearly up with the Vader+ brigade given they're pretty obviously far beyond the likes of Muur. Kun being the GOAT of the Sith Council's lineage, clearly puts him beyond that level.
The likes of Sadow, Muur, Pall and such would be around Dooku's tier.

The general consensus is that the ancient Sith are the ones before Kun's rise to power.
