I,m feeling myself so Victoria Azarenko now. Get to semis and then get soundly trashed by "Serena Williams" from the "lower" part of bracket. Most likely by Leonidas.
But then I shall not feel so overconfident unless I want to get my ass kicked early in the tourney.
Also, Id, lovely visual pun with "Honey Badger" Rogue's streak, but you seem not to care.

ok, well, i'll get started. this is without a lot of thought out into it, and going more by a sense of the characters as i know them and the debaters involved. here is the list in reverse order of hiw i see these amalgams ranked. no offense intended (or not much anyway... heh) and again, this is with no knowledge of plans and/or meshing capabilities. someone may see something i don't and something may arise during a match to completely alter this list. myself, not included of course.
9. tijay--newish debater, no clear uber powerful guys in the amalgam.
8. beatboks--see tijay (props on creativity though and maybe something i'm not seeing immediately)
7. chipguy--see above but again love the nelson pick
6. abhi--i liked his first couple picks a lot (thought of drafting prometheus tbh) but the redundancy of cap britain for power has me confused. guess i'll have to wait and see with his guy...
5. sin--great combo, all bases seem covered.
4. id--always a pain to debate against and i suspect he has some nifty plan i'm missing. could be much closer to the top...
3. digi--that is one big a$$ engine of destruction he has happening....
2. cdb--very solid combo. no immediate weaknesses and cdb is a very able debater with some pretty clever plans. gonna be a tough out in the thing....
1. pg--great combo of guys, heavily versatile and pg has proven to be quite clever in these things...

lol
nice reference. maybe you'll pull a lisicki against whomever happens to be playing the role of serena. lol you have a great combo. no one will be taking you out without a hell of a fight.
Just an association with a compatriot from the looks of the bracket. Just like in her case, no evident high ranking heavy hitters till semis... and the nightmare of varying degree in the semis proper.
First match with "Mr Random" will be something funny. Then... I think I'll wait and see until the match itself.
Digi vs Gundam is gonna be the true gem of this tourney. I guess Gundam is still slightly bitter from his loss in the finals of the last low-meta tourney.
Speaking on Azarenko, I initially wanted to take a patriotic pun to the whole new level, drafting Darkstar I as my Powers pick but then decided to pick somebody who is at least good in normally tech-heavy tourneys at this level.
I ended up with Storm, Jenny Sparks and Polaris as final candidates for Powers and let my boyfriend take a pick. He picked Polaris.
Gender: Male Location: Planning to take over the WORLD!
darkstar would have been all right. storm is also a good pick. very versatile. toodamnloud would have us believe she could solo the field. you settled with the best of the lot imo.
Abhilegend: Abomination - Prometheus - Captain Britain.
Easy. The Key component is Prometheus. He aims to counter prep all yall.
Leonidas: Blue Beetle - Fantomex - Red Ghost.
Oh you sneaky old bastard.
Misdirection + Ghosting.
Blue Beetle Scarab + Eva
can of worms
CAN OF WORMS
Tijay: Mettle - Dock Ock - Spidey
Take what we know of Superior Spiderman. Splash invulnerability for some added damage.
The kicker, is all Dock Ock, and what kind of toys you want to bring out.
Psycho Gundam: X-51 - Tony - Northstar
Your a crazy phucker, I cant predict what you will do outside squeezing Tony for whats he is worth.
Sin I Am: Pitt - Amadeus Cho - Psylocke
Amadeus Cho is the key component. I do not know enough of you, or said character to comment. Which makes you that much dangerous.
Charlotte: Miss Martion - Emma - Polaris
At first glance, it seems you want exploit the Martians physiology through Emma. That alone would rack up your Telepathy, and Physical Prowess a few tiers. I am talking Martian Manhunter level, or close to it. Polaris is thrown in for added versatility. Something to counter the mechanical picks in this tourney.
Id: Rogue - Quibit - Sage
An old man, and a FOOOOL.
Chipguy: Aquaman - Karate Kid - Nelson Jent.
hehe. I understand Aquaman. I understand Karate Kid. I have no idea what the hell your going to do with Nelson Jent.
Digi: Ultimo - Dark Angel - Havok
Tank
Fuel
Engine
In that order.
Beatbok: The Shield - The Question - Justice
Excluding myself. I like Leo's the most, I give him the best odds of winning this shindig. Good luck to everyone.
Leo is the clear favorite here, I've already called him the Serena Williams of this tournament.
And yes, Emeralda is a good ol' horsey that carried me into the semis of the Delph's Champions' League. I'll be on vacation for first half of the tourney, not posting from home, so picked something for which I already have orderly scans collection, and an EMP specialist with good feats as a "dressing"
By the way I though Jent was going to end up in amalgam with Amadeus Cho. Probabilities manip vs randomly generated superpowers. Turned out I was wrong.
Scarab armor is some pretty good shit if used by somebody less kiddy than Jamie.
Digi IS more obvious but Leo's going to milk Fantomex for what is worth. Like his showing agaist Jean. And that gives us...a f*cking scary thing. Especially if "misdirection" is not a mutant power but skill.
I need my A-game out of the gate. Probably a small bump down in odds in terms of my strength of schedule.
If someone loses due to a bad matchup, they can still take everything quite easily. Double elimination makes it harder to be knocked out simply on a tricky pairing, which I like.
Id has a self-admittedly boom or bust strategy. He's probably got the most potential, but the "all eggs in one basket" strategy is susceptible to a bad matchup at some point. All it takes is one weakness to exploit sometimes.
Leo can go to hell. I take back all the nice things I said about him, ever. I actually don't think he has the most power or versatility - but he's going to be the most annoying to fight.
Polaris scared a lot of people who have tech-based picks, but Charlotte is in the wrong half of the draw to fully take advantage of it.
No clue on odds. I've learned that we don't know a LOT until matches start. I might make Abhi/Charlotte co-favorites though, just because, at least in terms of past tourney success in the field, they're in the far easier half of the bracket.
