They debuted some new songs live. This first one is apparently the same one they've been doing as an instrumental, but now it has Maynard's vocals attached. Second one is another slow-burner, but it's really cool, too. I hope the whole album isn't slow-burners, but if they're all 10-12 minutes long they probably are. I'm hoping there's at least one track like "Rosetta Stoned."
^ Indeed! I forgot to share it here. Yeah, I've never cared whether they are on streaming services or not because I always have all their music on my phone and whatever, but it is cool anyway.
It's really happening this time. In about a month we'll have a new Tool album!
How about the $45 hard copy? Comes with an HD screen and speakesr 'n shit. That's ridiculous. I'm honestly not sure if I'll buy it now. There's no cheaper version.
The pre-orders on Amazon were initially $45, yeah. I think it went down a little, but I don't think there's any pre-orders left. I didn't do it. Oh well, may not even get it, unless they release a scaled-down version. Kind of idiotic.
The new title track has grown on me a lot more, though. So that's good.
Got mine pre ordered and will keep y’all up to date on the tech when it arrives.
As for the new single, it’s also growing in me. The ending seemed lackluster at first, but there’s more nuances opening up with more listens. I LOVE Danny’s drumming on the track and is reminiscent of Reflection, though different.
^ Yeah, I agree. I wasn't thrilled with the ending at first. And it's definitely not their best ending, because they've had so many great poly rhythm crescendos that are difficult to out-do. But yeah, there's a lot of subtlety in the song which I think will give it longevity.
I have a friend that is getting it, so I should get to see it at some point, but please do post pictures.
