They had one decent album, Shannon Hoon's voice made half of the band and after his death they never really released anything that could be of interest to anyone.
Sorry for reviving an old topic, but I'm doing a project on 90s rock music and have found this thread useful. Anyways, my Top 10 based on quality, popularity, and influence would have to be..
-Nirvana
-Oasis
-Blur
-Smashing Pumpkins
-Pearl Jam
-REM
-Red Hot Chili Peppers
-The Stone Roses
-Radiohead
-Soundgarden
Those aren't in any particular order, except the first two were probably the "winners" of my list because they represent the two most successful scenes of 90s rock: grunge (Nirvana) and Britpop (Oasis). Any comments to improve my list are appreciated! Thanks.
Nirvana (Smells Like Teen Spirit, The Man Who Sold the World, Come as You Are)
Bush (Everything Zen, Letting the Cable Sleep, Machinehead)
Smashing Pumpkins (Zero, Bullet with Butterfly Wings, Disarm, Tonight, Tonight)
Alice in Chains (Stay Away, Over Now, Angry Chair, No Excuses)
Soundgarden (Black Hole Sun, Spoonman, Rusty Cage)
Rage Against the Machine (No Shelter, Down Rodeo, The Ghost of Tom Joad)
Tool (Aenima, 46 and 2, Stinkfist)
Pearl Jam (Nothing as It Seems, Jeremy, Black)
STP (Interstate Love Song, No Way Out, Creep)
The Red Hot Chili Peppers (Under the Bridge, Breaking the Girl, My Friends, need I say more).
