I'm not inherently against change. It was just a poorly constructed comic imho. It will probably get retconned when someone goes into detail regarding New God history.

Darkseid is an immensely strong being, able to casually destroy Lantern constructs and easily take on the entire JL, even when holding back (he obviously wasn't seeking to kill them, as we will see from other scans)
