At this point I think that Natsu/Gray and above are stronger than the wizard saints. Natsu casually destroyed a warrior god or something recently. The only person going on this mission who is not stronger than a wizard saint imo is Lucy, and maybe Wendy.

I find it interesting we didn't actually see how the space mage would be beaten by the main ones. Would Erza manage to cut her way out? Would Natsu and Gray simply beat him with their non-space magic? Who knows, because his boss just killed him!
