Yeah, sorry about that. There were tons of articles that day saying it would be remastered in the new engine and include gameplay changes as a result. Vaati also put out similar info though he retracted it citing bad sources. Bandai Namco recently confirmed that it wouldn't use any new assets from DS3 though no word on whether it uses the same engine or not.
Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
It's a bit steep but as a late DS1 player (played it right before 3 and after 2 and Bloodborne), I'd like to experience the game at day 1 with fresh PvP and active covenants. I always hear about how DS1 and 2 were the golden years of DS PvP so experiencing that at the beginning along with all the new players figuring things out sounds too good to pass up.
Plus, DS1 is a masterpiece of a game. If I could buy a fully remastered RE4 with RE7 graphics, or an SH2 with PT graphics, I would buy it no matter the price. This is what a remaster should be. Not the RE game ports or the stuff every other company puts out. Plus, I hear Scholar of the First Sin was a huge improvement over base DS2, so these guys seem to do remasters right.
