VG movies could work if they stop trying to relate to the audience and put effort into them. I mean I’m not gonna judge this movie quite yet, but why do we need this human character with Sonic? Who is he for?
It’s kinda the same thing with Chris in Sonic X, he shouldn’t have been there at all.
Not saying humans can’t be within Sonic, I mean just look at Robotnik and G.U.N. But they aren’t there to try and have the audience feel related to the universe, they are apart of it. Now if it works for this movie and the character isn’t just there, then ok but there’s still the other aspect of putting effort.
On a side note I’m still waiting for Nintendo to make that Starfox anime. That short anime they did to promote Zero was amazing. I feel Nintendo has a lot of IPs that can work fantastic, it’s not the 80/90s anymore Nintendo, you can do it!
Also this yeah, couldn’t edit it in, in time. Feel like a lot of VG movies would be better to just be animated, now some could be LA sure. But a good portion would probably be better in the former format. Not like it hasn’t been proven that animated movies can’t make bank either.
I feel like Voldemort could have created a horcrux just via the act of watching this movie.

Look I love Sonic, one of my earliest memories is playing this game as a bright-eyed lil kid and so one would think I would be thrilled to see a live-action movie on this beloved video game series.
And maybe my naive and innocent younger self would have been.
But the cynical old man I am today thinks that this trailer just looks like Hollywood messing up yet another beloved video game franchise.
