Why did people here try and defend Chauvin, either openly or via weasel tactics?
Today: "Police expert witness, Jody Stiger, a sergeant in the Los Angeles Police Department and a former Marine, testifying for the prosecution, said Derek Chauvin used 'excessive force' on George Floyd when he arrested him on May 25, 2020." -snip
Also today: "Minneapolis police medical support coordinator Nicole Mackenzie described how police officers have a number of obligations to render first aid and try to resuscitate a person who’s stopped breathing, none of which Chauvin did despite his training. Next week she'll testify for the defense." -snip

Floyd was a big dude, sure, but nobody's gonna convince me it was "necessary" to dogpile him (even though he was handcuffed) and choke him to death, ffs.
Folks defended Chauvin by assassinating the character of the deceased. Their contributions to many arguments around the BLM protests being that Floyd was perceived as a criminal and thus inherently deserved what he got.
