Synopsis: The comedy set in prehistoric times and is described as being in the vein of Woody Allen's "Bananas" and "Sleeper," "Homo Erectus" centers on Ishbo, a philosophical caveman who yearns for more out of life than sticks, stones and raw meat. The rest of his tribe write off his forward-thinking ideas as the ravings of an idiot, including the cavegirl he loves from afar.

National Lampoon has acquired worldwide rights to Adam Rifkin's caveman comedy "Homo Erectus" and set a theatrical release for September. Rifkin wrote, directed and stars in "Homo Erectus," centered on a philosophical caveman with an unrequited love interest who's never impressed with his inventions, such as the toilet, the spoon and pants.
