go read spiderman vs wolverine. wolverien clearly says here it comes and has his claws out and to the side of his face in the next frame his claws are in and his arm is next to his side allowing spiderman to hit him
What's funny is that in the graveyard fight Spiderman states that he's fighting for SURVIVAL.. he says he must KILL Wolverine to win. Wolverine is not trying to kill Spiderman at all! He just pins him to the floor at the end of that fight and talks some shit.

I wish I had my other computer, too. I have a scanned letter personally written to me by Stan Lee and cosigned by Steve Ditko answering this question. They say :

Then Iron Man pulls Spiderman off, and can't hold on to him, but the struggle with Iron Man tired Spiderman out, and between that and the cheap shot Spidey allowed Wolverine to get in, he passes out.
