I thought they were sticking with british actors?
Cuz if they weren't I would've sent one of my cousin's over to audition.
yeah, plus shes asian, they never go very big...yeah,plus shes asian, they never go very big...
As an asian, I understand what you mean and it bothers me *so* much. It is still derogative.
I'm sure there are plenty of asians out there in England who can speak perfect english.
Yeah, when I first read (call me thick if you want) I didn't imagine the Patil sisters in being Indian, and I didn't imagine Chang in being Asian, so there you go.
I did, My last name's Chang, that's a classic chinese surname...well Lee would be a classic chinese surname but still.
Did you not imagine Chang being asian as in Chinese (which is what i am) or asian in general.
In general Chang would not be an asian name, however it would be a very common chinese name.
so, it would be a safe excuse for the British filmmakers to cast a girl who is not very Asian looking - as long as she has long, black, shiny hair - which was the only physical feature (aside from being very pretty of course) mentioned of Cho in the books!
I have an audio version of OoTP and one of the pictures is of Harry with a girl who is clearly of Oriental descent (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc..)
I would be so pissed if they cast a non-asian because they're not giving the asians a chance.
There are plenty of ways to distinguish a person of Oriental Descent and someone whose not...hint: it's in the eyes.
On a side note I think she'd be a good Jubilee for X3, she looks the type.
I don't care who they cast as cho, just please keep her Oriental, just give the oriental people a chance!
