Johnny Depp Plays willy

I voted absolutely, because I already saw it, and I loved it to pieces.

Johnny Depp's portrayal of Willy Wonka is more true to the book than Gene Wilder's, though I love the original as well; Wilder's Wonka is more intelligent, whereas Depp's Wonka is the creepily perfect and 'hasn't-seen-people-in-years' kind of Wonka I imagined.

I saw this today and enjoyed it a lot. I need to see it again because I kept comparing it to the Wilder version, which I was trying not to do. I'm going to wait for the DVD before rewatching it. I like the actors from the '71 film more, though Depp and Freddie Highmore were really good. Loved the humour and Oompa Loompaas were delightfully bizarre.

After the way Burton screwed up the Batman movies so royally I think I will skip this movie and stay with the classic Gene Wilder movie.My vote was Never in a million years will I see it.

Im not agree here, For me , Burton sucked in the batman movies, but his other work is fantastic. He is a great filmaker, but he was wrong with his concept about batman and his world. And it looks a good movie, althougth i liked very much the movie with gene wilder, it looks that Johnny Depp nailed the part and the movie loooks good. Normaly, im against the remakes, but this movie and king kong looks very good.

I loved it but the umpalumpas what the heck is up with them their all the same it sucked it hated them and overall i loved the movie besides the umpalumpas

I watched WillyWonka and the Chocolate Factory today... and every time I watch it now I'm a teen, I notice one more paedo-like thing that Wonka does. Which is kinda of worrying 😬

Having seen how Depp looks for his role as Wonka... I wouldn't be too surprised it some sick, sick stuff happened to those kids in this version ❌

Looks too "dark" for me... it'll absolutely kill any childhood memories of the books and original film.

I read a review by a feminist critic who was trying really hard not to come across as androgynous! 😂 she said that Depp's Wonka never mellows out.

So I saw charlie over the weekend.

A little bizarre but very good in some parts. Not as good as murderball though which might be the best movie I see all year.

I just looked on imdb.com... and it probably just means that he looks familiar but... he hasnt done anything... imdb.com tells everything about a person... this is probably his first movie... and he hasnt done anything else...

I ended up watching this movie expecting to hate it but much to my chagrin I ended up loving this movie so much I almost found it better than the first.
I tried to think of it as a different movie entirely but had to compare alittle.
everything was much better...wonka was weirder,the kids were brattier,charlie was more likable and those um pa loom pas were hysterical!

um I liked it and i did google it but crap happened.I've seen this kid somewhere.hmm... and uh was that kid from james in the giant peach in this movie?
