History and the truth???

I kind of consider myself a war buff and a history buff and so I know that history is different throughout the world Each country tries to teach there kids the best history they can about there own country. I mean like here in America we go into great detail about parts of are history but hardly glance at other parts. We will go into blood detail about are victories in Europe during WWII and are part in the D-day invasions but we wont take about are mass Killings of Indians.

Soooo whats this all about??? I would just like to here some people’s views on history in their country. And if you have ever traveled to any other county and heard so strange things about history from the natives there. I got a good one…….

Ok so about 15 years ago my father’s friend took a trip to Russia. He was sitting on a bus and he got into a talk with a Russian lady about WWII and she said that it was the Americas fault that some many Russian civilians starved to death during WWII and my fathers friend was like “Why do you say this?” and she said “If America would have used its full Naval power to destroy the German nave then Russia could have gotten more food and supplied without ships getting sunk by German war ships.” And he says “but we had most of are Pacific fleet destroyed we had to rebuild the ships before we could do anything” and she says “How did your Pacific fleet get destroyed”…”At Pearl Harbor”…..”Whats Pearl Harbor”….”The Japanese Attack and destroyed 8 of are battle ships at Pearl Harbor”…..This is the part that amazed him and me. After he tells her what Pearl Harbor is she says “ohhh that must have been American Propaganda because I have never herd about it” …….WHAT American propaganda…WE MADE UP PEARL HARBOR…ok I know that the communist are huge loves of propaganda and are great at convincing there people that there country has done nothing wrong but how the Hell do you convince people that Pearl Harbor never happened????

Any older Russians out there ever not no what Pearl Harbor was??
And because I’m on the subject of WWII I have a question for anyone leaving in Germany how do you guys study things like WWII??? I know that for a long time after the war Germany destroyed all history of there past and did not study WWII or Hitler at all.. do you study that part of history today and How do you study it?? What I mean is when I study the history of WWII im able to look at America and its Allies as the “Good guys” do you look at the Allies as the “Good Guys” or do you just not take sides.

That doesnt change the fact that americans could have helped with the war before Pearl Harbor. I'm sure she just never heared of it. I'm sorry but Pearl Harbor is small compared to what happen during the war.
And its not exactly flatering for America either.

Ah and I learner all kinds of stuff. Good and bad.

I am canadian, so I am allowed to say this. This happened in the near past. During Opperation War on terrorisom in Afghanistan. Americans came there with the beige desert suit, Candians cam there with the green forest camo suit.... Yeah... Nice green Christmas trees in the middle of the desert.........

Hahahh I remember seeing those guys in the green suits but that’s ok I bet they learned fast.

But you got to remember this quote from a Mettalica song “To secure Peace it to prepare for War” All these “Peace Wars” ( I quote that even thought I am an American I still think that some of are Peace Wars are bullshit) but none the less when the next World War comes (and it will it is in are nature to destroy ourselves) we will be the most prepared…we wont be running around in green suits like are frainds to the North 🙂

I was chillin in Manheim (sp) germany with some homies, and we were kicking it with some of the young pretty local ladies. So anyways, one of my friends being jewish, asks one of the girls "so do you guys learn about the holocaust in school?" much to my dismay. The girl answers him "what is the holocaust?" Much more to my dismay he pushes the question and makes sort of a big deal out of it (FYI this guy had nill social skills). Meanwhile he's kinda ranting and this poor girl is looking confused and nervous.

Now what twists my twizzler is did they know what he was talking about and they were just playing dumb, or did they really not know what the holocaust was. Now these are highschool girls, 16-18 not little kids. One can only wonder...

Ohhh and everyone please don't make a big deal out of this feel free to bash America here and there (but don't get to upset if i get you back 🙂) i just love the history thing and i want to here other countries views on any thing in history. Unfortunately I don't get to do a lot of traveling so I am stuck in southern California where most can care less about history and stuff like that....go surfer bums 😄

The Marines are fist in last out…they do beach landings and things like that. They use boats for beach landings and patrol but that’s about it the Navy stays on the ships and subs

Most Countries do it that way I would think that you guys would have a special deviations of your army for beach landings and stuff like that. I think the only other country with Marines is Britain ( British Royal Marines kike A**)but i could be wrong

Well I know for a long time after WWII the German people kids never study Hitler and what he did…but as long as this wasn’t like 30 years ago I would think this girls should know what the Holocaust is unless they call it something different there
