Spam has more than one definition - advertising, and also posting repeatedly for no reason at all. Which is also frowned upon, and yes, people have gotten in trouble for it in the past. Including being warned and banned.You were not actually warned about that, though, simply told to stop. And MG was told before to stop in the million post thread.
People rarely used the thread to talk, 90% of it was you posting inane stuff repeatedly. There is an edit button, the point of it is to prevent multiple posts so close together.
You don't need to be warned before getting a ban. And joking or no, vulgarity isn't allowed.
