Yeah, because he's not. Unless someone can prove that he could kick everybody in the world's ass, I'm gonna have to think that people overrate his abilities, because he has no professional record or any other accomplishments when it comes to fighting. He apparently was famous for beating up street fighters, whereas Anderson Silva is famous for making professional fighters look like street fighters. No comparison, really.
He might have been a good street fighter, but that's nothing compared to professionals in the UFC.
He's a glorified Kimbo Slice, except Kimbo actually fought professionally as well. I like Bruce Lee, but I don't think he was this unstoppable fighting machine that everyone seems to think he was.
All I have to say to this is, "he is widely considered by commentators, critics, media and other martial artists to be one of the most influential martial artists of all time."
I'm not one to underrate anyone's abilities, like Silva, but credit where credit is due please. Simply calling him an 'actor,' is offensive.

I don't actually think he was just an actor, I know he did train in martial arts and was known for using his skills for street fighting. I just don't like when people act like he was this unbeatable fighting machine who would destroy all of the fighters in the UFC, whether it's a street fight or an MMA bout. That's ridiculous.
I like Bruce Lee, but he wasn't some unstoppable force of nature like so many people claim, and I'm not just saying that because he has never fought in the UFC (that would be stupid). Fact is: he's never even competed at a professional level at all, yet so many claim him as the "Greatest fighter of all time".
IIRC, he did box at an amateur level in Hong Kong, and even won a championship, but he was completely exhausted after 3 rounds. Winning an amateur boxing championship is actually a great accomplishment, but not nearly enough for him to be compared to boxers like Muhammad Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Pacman, or PBF (which many, many people say he would destroy), and not to mention MMAists like Fedor Emelianenko, Anderson Silva, Georges St. Pierre, or Jose Aldo. He should never be compared to any professional fighter, ever.
For the record, I'm not saying that you're one of those people who make ridiculous claims about Bruce Lee. And like I said, I like Bruce Lee, I think he was a very smart man and had great philosophies on life, and obviously he influenced a lot of today's greatest fighters.
