You can keep the Dauphinoise, I'll take the French steak with pomme frites instead 🙂

Reminds me, one of the best steaks I've ever had in my life was this little French restaurant, owned and operated by two real Frenchies, in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it town called San Anselm, Ca. Sadly, it closed.

it is a shame when good restaurants close. You are lucky in SF many of everything. When I am home in London it's the same. World cities are always the best places for food tbh.

It's painful, especially considering you see shit restaurants go on.

Indeed they are. Even here in Marin County, the suburbs of SF, the variety of world foods is diverse. We've also have a look of "fusion food" restaurants. Which are culinary amalgams, many times great,

Medium rare with peppercorn sauce on the side. 😉

Best steak I’ve ever had was in France at a Brazilian style restaurant and it had chili flakes on it. The flavors were amazing.

Steak is too much a fcking diva of a meat, if you have to cook it ever so perfectly for it to be good then it's shit.

I like a chunk of meat that you can cook however and it turns out decent, throw it in a crockpot and have it fall off the bone and be tender goodness.

Bring skill into it and timing and it's just work.

Now that I think about it, that was probably in London. Still, nothing else is a better combo than meat and spice.

maybe you’d prefer ham.

I can't eat pork, worked at a bacon company and saw horrors that would freeze your blood and make you puke your guts out. #PersonalPreference

Lamb, goat, venison?

Or maybe you’d prefer fish or poultry?

idk I'm picky. It is what it is.

I know a vegetarian/vegan who uses mushrooms for his protein in a roast dinner. Mushrooms are interesting because they are so versatile.

I'm sort of a vegetarian, but I can't give up meatloaf,burgies,roastbeef,chikn,turkey,brats

Fusion is good unless it is overpriced shit like at one of Hestons restaurants.

tbh I like peppercorn sauce but if I'm going that route, I like it and blue cheese in pots to dip each bite in, almost like racclette (sp).

I worked at pork farms one summer, same. Till I was working for the national health in Histopath and was watching an autopsy. I craved a bacon butty afterwards and never looked back.

lol, two of my closest friends decided to mix a ready meal curry with a ready meal Mexican dish because one was black and the other was Latina, simply because I said mixing different cultures and recipes were a good idea and is creative. Food wise. They would argue constantly because they were jerks, but at the time, they were my friends. I criticized it because they obviously didn’t get that I meant cooking from scratch but thought I was being a racist. Truth is, they weren’t too bright.
