I said my Grandmother on my Mom's side was German. We didn't go for Octoberfest, in fact I never even seen any indications of it, perhaps the massive Muzzie population didn't like the idea of people drinking and having fun. The biggest Octoberfest was ironically in Ohio.

There are other things to see and do in Germany than Octoberfest, they have lots of old churches and medieval buildings and scenic vistas and all kindsa stuff.

Oh I hit the jackpot, my sister brought over a big ol pile of turkey breast, mashed taters, stuffing, green bean casserole, garlic buns and a pumpkin cheesecake. Hell yeah!

Well they cooked for my Mom and had lots leftover. We already did our turkey day last month only with italian food because fvck tradition. But I was craving turkey so it worked out.
