((How many entries has the fortress? Has the siege any weak point?))

It only has one entrance that you can see, and in your estimation the Dunlendings are likely to be more lax than the Orcs.

okie let's go over the advantages:

Day:
-Pro:
*The orcs are asleep
*The Dunlendings (could have sworn it was dunlings) are prolly more lax then the orcs.
*Baranar will spot our approach more quickly and will be able to "help" sooner.

-Con:
*No Cover of darkness

Night:
-Pro:
*Cover of darkness

-Con:
*Orcs instead of Dunlendings
*Baranar will spot our approach later and will there for will not be able to "help" us until later

I dunno seems to be about a Tie

we'd only have an element of surprise on the orcs, during day light.
But when they wake up...it's not good anyway.
I say we wait for night fall.
BUT..we haven't decided what we want to do....we can't attack..we'll be killed. So why even bother with offensive advantages?

Cover of Darkness is a big advantage for sneak by as well Lord Vardalain

nah not yet I'm thinking of one, but I dunno if it is gonna work, and it would require the loss of a few horses.

Horses don't come cheap...

I like the distraction Idea.
Maybe Kai could start a fire, and when the the orcs are dealing with that we could sneak into the fortress.

Can my microwave start a fire?

Not as far as I know...

(Well...No microwave no fire)

"I think night is better. As Master Verdalain said, when thw orcs awake they will fight us. Maybe with the daylight handicap but they will fight us anyaway. I think it hould be better try to sneak at night.
Maybe if we find a away to have a "dunleenfing look" "

I can tell you now- there is no way an Elf is ever going to look like a Hillman!

Do remember you have surprise on your side and all you have to do is make it to the gates (and have those in Baranar open the gates for you, of course).
