Even if there WERE showers in LOTR (and if there are, the Elves probably make them out of waterfalls or something), there sure as heck aren't any at Baranar. Luckily they do have a fresh water source- though Elves have a habit of looking great all the time anyway, just a few hours after looking rough. Typical...
"You have all come here to help?" asks Baranar. "That is... unexpected. Whilst I am grateful for all the help I can get... I would hate to gain the emnity of Elvenkind by having your immortal blood spilled on our behalf.
"Unless this heralds an intervention by the Elves in this war...?"
"Greetings from my master Cirdan and from Lindon, noble lord Baranar. I came to kill orcs. Thats the way I have chosen to my life until I take the boat to the Undying Lands. And if I can kill them here in Baranar my sword is yours lord Baranar" Says Corlindel. "I would appreciate if you get me a s long sword and a shield milord, and I will defend Baranar as my father did it at Gondolin"
(I am a real beggar 😊 )
"Your zeal in wanting to aid us here is comforting... if... unexpected." Baranar looks, if anything, suspcious at the sudden arrival of these Elves. "Palanfirith, are these fellows of yours also guests of King Arvedui?"
Baranar can provide you guys with basic weaponry, for the duration of any coming fight at least.
It is a very basic fortress, Palanifirth- rectangular, longer at the north and south walls, corner towers, a gatehouse, and an inner keep. The miracle is that th fortress is here at all, it is hardly a Helm's Deep or Minas Tirith but it is solid; well built.
You should be able to cure these people Vardalain- butvery few of them will be ready to fight in the near future.
"Master healers, Would you be so kind as to aid me? I do not need much, but if you coudl stop the bleeding it woudl be much appreciated."
*Turns to lord Baranar*
"We are here with out the blessing of the council, yet some elves are not so ignorant as to not see how the fate of Men and the Fate of elves are interwined, fortunalty They are the ones that stayed behind. I do not mean to say that those elves are unrespectable, because that would be untrue, I mean to say that some, even those with forsight, prove to be more reclusive observers, that those who act."
Palanfirith, that's not actually true- none of the new Elves have even met King Arvedui.
Bit of a diplomatic gaffe there, Palidan...
"If that is the view of the Elves," he asks, "that only the conservatives amongst them will not aid us, then why are there not a hundred times your forces here? If it is the will of Rivendell to aid us, a handful will help no-one."
You guys really need to get over this idea that the Elves are not helping out of selfishness- they have good cause to not help.
Regardless of the fate of Elf and Man, there is no question of any of the senior Elves thinking it is a good idea to help- not Elrond, Cirdan, Galadriel or Glorfindel think that is a good idea. Glorfindel says he would do it if asked, but he doesn't think it is a good idea.
Remember, Elf is superior to Man- Man created this problem himself. It is Man that has to take the steps to maturity before the Elves can be in a position to help them. It was rather hoped that you guys would aid Arvedui and his court in bringing that about- that is their plan, because he and his Dunadan Lords are 'on board', as it were. Simply saying "Oh, we are the good Elves as opposed to those bad ones that won't help" (and if you think that is unfair, put yourselves in the position of the people of Cardolan and think about how they will interpret what you say) can only take things backwards.
Gandalf himself told you guys that there is wisdom even in those things you do not wish to hear- like the Elves who said that helping man was a bad idea. Considering this entire thing is Gandalf's plan, I hope you can trust in his wisdom there...
So your first difficulty is- with the Elves having stood by for decades, how exactly do you square it with a man like Baranar- not even a Dunadan- that a bunch of them has suddenly turned up? He is natutally suspicious. Elves will not find a very friendly welcome in these lands, and the new arrivals have not been ok'ed by Arvedui, which is why the older players were ok.
Oh, and, yes, this game is a little more in-depth and maybe grown up than my Matrix and Star Wars ones... bit more thought involved. It befits the background.
Lord Baranar, don't attack the elf kind before knowing our own problems.Lord Elrond did his best in showing his interest in u're faith but there is nothing more that elfs can do for you.We should not talk about what should've been,we should talk about what it is,and with what men we have,we must defend this encampment.

"Well, excuse ME," says Lord Baranar, "But MY problems happen to include the deaths of myself, my family, all my lands and everyone I have ever cared about so do not think for one moment that at this point I am concerned with whatever vague problems YOU may be referring to!" he thunders. "And if that is going to be your attitude, then DAMN your help- we'll stand alone.
"Now, either the Elves are in or they are out- so what IS this?"
Saying 'Nothing more that Elves can do for you' to people facing extinction probably wasn't the smoothest thing to say, Palanfirith.
"Oh, and yet YOU make a statement like 'this is a problem 'man' made? I didn't make this damn problem, and if I had any sense and kept my head down like all the sensible Lords have, this would not be happening! So damn your Elves and your Wizards and your idiotic ideas and your arrogant belittiling of our struggle! And if your help comes with this attitude, then I don't want it. OUT!"
Baranar is now expelling the Elves from his fortress. Except Vardalain, who is healing his men, and Aiwendil, who seems different.
This is rather a problem. You guys have played this very badly- a diplomatic touch was needed and now a small miracle is needed to patch things up.
