USH'S LOTR RP Game part 2- The Fortress of Baranar

Started by Trickster211 pages

Darvan realises he should keep his crazy mouth shut in future. And does so now.

Sorry guys, thought Baranar would respect someone like that. My bad...

These are Baranar's lands- he is Lord here, as Elrond is in Rivendell.

And he speaks truly when he says he is only in this predicament because he is trying to hook up with this plan of Gandalf/Arvedui's. If he hadn't shown interest in throwing in his lot with the 'good guys', there would be no plague, and no army.

So when strangers come to his lands from a people whom, as far as the Cardolani see it, have stood by and watch their people die, and the seem to be accusing him of creating the mess, added to the fact that, as I described, he is highly stressed- his wife and son are sick and he has not slept in several days and it looks like everyone is going to die soon- and you can see why some of these remarks may have rubbed him up the wrong way...

Like I say, there is a certain touch needed in this game.

Crap, I thought it was partially his plan too! And that somehow the kingdom of man had invaded the orcs and attacked the highland guys! 😮

Eeek! Other than that it is very much the Orcs and Dunlendings that attacked Arnor (what Arnor did wrong was fight itself), Baranar was entirely out the firing line until Arvedui actively asked him for help. He has asked lots of people for help- Baranar was the only one who thought it was the right thing to do.

So all he has done is express an interest- and then suddenly it looks like he'll lose everything.

We can wind things back and patch things up now you have a better picture...

Okay, but I think I'll probably mess it up again 🙁

Well, let us leave it at Baranar being annoyed, and see if peolle can calm things from here- your first test of diplomacy.

shouldn't i get on healing his wife and son?

Oh yeah, they'll let you into the tower where his son is now.

great..then..Vardalain heads there....

i assume he didn't hear that argument with his coleagues....he'd have something to day...but...better shut up🙂......and if things get wind up....it probably even exist anymore

"Lord Baranar, there is no need to get angry and fatalistic.Just as we speak, your son and wife are getting cured by our animist,u're men will also be as soon as possible and the fortress will get it's power back soon enough.I don't want to meen any disrespect , but we should clarify this after we get rid of the siege. There are many matters that you and the representatives of king averdui and elrond must settle, but this is not the time for it.Let's focus on the enemy, for he is very focused on us, and we must face him soon." says Palanfirith in a calm voice.

Thanks 😉

Andromir, having waited thus far in a corner, observing the conversation, now speaks to lord Baranar, a certain sign of distress in his voice : " Lord Baranar, I can't even begin to imagine what u must have gone through these last couple of months... However, these elves are here to help, or so they say, and for the moment we would be foolish not accept their aid, be it with arrogant comments or not, for the enemy outside the gates will slaughter both us and them alike, should we not be united when the time comes. Please lord Baranar, prove to these elves that man's wisdom is just as good as theirs if not better at times. Put aside the political affairs for a moment, because, as u have so clearly noticed, the armies outside the walls will destroy us if we are not in this toghether. Once the danger is past, I am sure we will be able to bring about a civilized discusiion of their purpose here. As of right now I believe the stress of combat and of the upcoming battle must be weighing heavily upon every one of us."

( i trust his hopes of victory aren't high, with our aid or not.....so that's why he won't think twice before throwing us outside to...let's face it..die first, if we don't behave)

(nice going guys, next time I'll do some talking myself)

(yea, were real smooth arn't we...)
Ok, well did we rewind or what?? If so , where did we go to?

Corlindel turns to Baranar saying firmly with respect: "Accept our help Lord Baranar. At this moment your people and family are ours too. And I will fight for them as I would fight for my people and for my family! My father died here in Cardolan fighting the Witch King of Angmar a long time ago, trying to protect the Northern Kingdow of Arnor (see character background thread ). I am here to revenge him and to finish his job! Accept my sword and of my friends too and we will try to bring a new tomorrow for this lands."

Baranar looks in two minds; angry but desperate, insulted but practical.

"There'll be time for this after the battle," he says. "I am going to see my son."

Well, it's not a diplomatic triumph for the Elves in Cardolan, but he won't throw you out.

Don't worry too much, these things happen. This is a dress rehearshal- the real challenge is getting good relations at Fornost, with Arvedui, and more importantly with his Council, wich has been the main problem for the vets so far.

yea I dislike a few of them, but after they saved my ass I learned to respect them

Palanfirith saluts and then heads out of the meeting looking a bit concered. He heads for the fortifications and finds a good spot to reflect upon the future battle

Vardalain tries to tend to baranar's wife and son
