Only a 17 this time, I am afraid, Vardalain...

On the West Wall, the struggle continues. Although another Orc is hacked down, their numbers there give them an advantage; another guard is killed and a second ladder is now uncontested.

Andromir, now the Orcs are moving along. As you note, another has come to replace the one you just killed at the NW tower. Palanfirith is still struggling with his to your side. And a tird has come to the tower also- he seems intent on going straight past the two of you. You could turn to attack him but that would give a flank attack to your assailant.

Baranar's archers shoot down another Orc. And the slide is used again, a rock this time crushing three assailants.

Darvan manages to fend off his assailant again! So now he is no longer stunned. However, to fight on, you will have to relinquish your shield and fight at -10, on your wrong hand. On the Eastern wall, an Orc pulls down one of Baranar's men, who goes screaming down below, before that Orc is decapitated in angry revenge.

Heh... yes,. you did at least buy some more, but getting there and back will remove you from the equation for a little while.

I'm gonna go help on the Westren wall, takes out sword and shield and moves towards the Westren wall

Darvan, laughing, shakes his head to clear it.

He hacks at the orc as hard as he can, while tyring to work out what would happen if he abandoned his sword and tackled his foe to the ground.

What would happen? Phew, finally some back up.

Don't worry Corlindel- if facing a single opponent and you have a shield, I safely assume that bit!

Darvan- what would happen is, as you don't have any specific unarmed training, you would make Strength Bonus attacks on the Grapple table. Your defence would also take a large penalty whilst unarmed.

Corlindel, an 06. You don't know what it IS with this guy! Still, you don't even need your shield to stop his return stroke; you side-step it easily. Darvan, you clash inconclusively with your foe, getting used to fighting off-hand. Meanwhile, Baranar's men kill another Orc trying to get up the ladders.

That noise, Corlindel- like a hammering?

Argentis, you change weapons. This is rather timely, as at this point the Orc that went past Andromir comes screaming into the upper gatehouse! The Orcs, meanwhile, are about to secure the third ladder there, as the Dunlendings reach the wall. Another Orc comes to the NW tower.

Vardalain, with a 77, rolls a high critical and a kill. Baranar's archers kill another Orc as well, at the front. With the return fire now greatly reduced, some more of Baranar's men take to the battlements and start hurling down rocks; these are lethal but the Orcs are well shielded. Still, another is killed. However, at this point, they have hacked through a second metal brace.

Several minutes into the battle, and the leaders on both sides are trying to adapt to the situation. And so at this point the Orcs move again- the differences you can see below.

Corlindel knows that he will kill this orc. It is just a question of patience and confidence. Corlindel tries to surprise the orc slashing strongly the orc's chest - blocks with shield.

Corlindel is confused by the hammering noise he hears..After block orc´s attack - if the orc survives 😗 - he also tries to guess what is happening outside the eastern and southern walls.

(Ush: If the orcs or dunleendings are using some kind of battering ram as hammer to destroy the walls, I think Baranar's men and us should see it...or can it be the sound of Arvedui's army coming closer?)

Arvedui's army is at least a day away. And the Orcs have no tools capable of breaching the walls.

Corlindel- a 75! About time. With that Orc already wounded, that is enough to bring the damn thing down!
