Not from the keep, Roan- whatever happening is happening inside the gatehouse and you don't have x-ray vision, sadly.

Ok, Vardalain has to attempt a hasty shot on the charging Dunlending.

He rolls 54, for a 104. He manages a total of 21 damage, not enough. The Dunlending rolls a 21 in return, lucky for Vardalain.

You can get over there, Andromir, though not in time for any sort of strike.

Four Dunlendings strike at Baranar's men, who are wilting somewhat. One strikes at Argentis- and scores a hit, causing a stamina loss of 9. One makes a decent strike on Corlindel, but he's just too good on the defensive.

That leaves two attacking the defenders; one is killed, but so is a defender. Three Dunlendings are killed on the ascent. No luck for Argentis or Corlindel, but Darvan runs his man through- Darvan has been rolling damn well actually. Baranar's guards kill two more.

Situation is now at the critical point- either the Dunlendings will be thrown back, or they will swarm into the main grounds. Four more rise up.

ok, then I try to hit a Dunlending.....

Sorry, Andromir, but that is far too imprecise in your situation for me to call it an action.

Firing a bow at melee range not an fantastic idea, Vardalain... no good, I am afraid. Your opponent rolls 90, and it is not worth me checking the chart because any hit will take you out of commission right now. With a swing of his axe, the Dunlending brings Vardalain down.

The Dunlendings prove less effective against Baranar's men, who come out unscathed this round. A Dunlending is felled by a mighty hack, and another wounded.

Two more die on the way up, and another dies fighting the guards, killing one in turn. One of the archers is killed as well, though the attacking Dunlending is taken down soon after.

Argentis, Corlindel and Darvan ALL score kills this time. Nice!

Another three rise. The Dunlendings have now become extremely hesitant... they are beginning to break.

With his eyes shining Corlindel cries "Kill then all!!!!!" And then charges to the nearest dunlending.

Ush...Isz it possible to do a presence roll to buck up morale? If not charges crying anyway.

No, there is ONE around you. You moved to help Vardalain, remember? A vague order is no good when you are trying to do something specific and Vardalain has paid for that.

You're a Mage, not an Animist, Palidan; not really your area. But you can get going to see how he is.

You can certainly do that whilst defending yourself, Corlindel. And just to be absolutely perfect, you rolled a 163 on your Presence roll. The theoretical mathematics of victory on the south wall swells from your war cries into the scent of triumph for the defenders, and the icy feeling of despair for the attackers as they see their opponents not yet broken.

Two Dunlendings are killed for the loss of one of Baranar's wounded men. But three more are killed climbing up, and Argentis hacks down the one on 11.

Only two rise this turn as the Dunlending assault starts to stall.
