Trinity

The Matrix is the story of Buddha with a futuristic twist

um, yes...and no. It is the story is the Buddha, but it is also the story of Christ, and Prometheus, and etc... It is not just one, but rather the sum of these persons. Just like the Matrix is not just nihilistic, or transcendent, etc., but rather the sum of these philosophies, and beliefs, into the greatest, most 'human'ly story possible.

Eddiedeweese> Just wondering. How did your statement end up in a thread about Trinity??

I agree that Neo is, among many things, a kin to a boddhistatva, a person who’s achieved enlightenment and transcended the illusion. First of the matrix, now, in M2, of the prophecy. But that is definitely not the only reference.

sorry didnt realize I was in the trinity department.

Achieving the awakened state and conquering the ego "agents" and setting out to wake up others. I didnt like Reload "squeal"

You didn't like Reloaded? Let me guess, you didn't understand it?

The ego-agenst?!?! Ehrm, a machine doesn’t have an ego. That’s one of the highlights of Reloaded: Smith has gained an ego, and it’s spreading like a disease. As well as Neo transcending the limits of the prophecy. For the record: Reloaded blew my mind. It’s brilliant!

Sifer>... 😂

I understood it just didnt like it. Hollywoodanized

The wachowski's don't do things "Hollywoodanized", even though thats not a word, we will forget about that... If the Wachowski's followed the preset guidelines that seem to mandate the way a movie is made, the whole movie would be action, there would be no strong underlying philosophy, and there would be no insane plot twists (like the fact that what we learn in the first is incorrect). And you would like it. Because it is NOT "Hollywoodanized", you do not like it, because it is more involved than xXx, has a REAL plot, and makes you think. Ergo, you want a "non-Hollywoodanized" movie, (which is really a "Hollywoodanized" movie, going by your logic), go watch xXx, or someother plotless action movie created by Hollywood to appease the masses.

How many people would be upset if Trinity died in "Revolutions"?

I have not completey understood what the character is there for, and we may find out, completely, very soon. I am starting to feel that her purpose is "Sacrifice".

Can anybody update my on there thoughts of Trinity.
And, what conclusions we see from her character.

my point exactly it seemed more like xXx than the matrix just more intellectual

...And apparently you missed my point...

I might have I just like The Matrix

Definately missed the point 🙂

Yeah. Missed the point with like a… planet.

Teunis> Trinity? Actually we know remarkably little about her. We know she hacked the INS database once. And… that’s about it. She’s not sacrifice, she didn’t re-enter the Matrix in Reloaded to die. She just didn’t want to stand by idly and watch her friends and lover die.

(Raises hand) I’d be upset if she died in Revolutions. I adore the character Trinity (but being a “she” I usually like heroines who can stand on their own.), her determination, her persistence (the way she fought the agents at the end of Reloaded, got beaten up and didn’t as much as squeal.), combined with an anti-cyberpunkish love for Neo. She defines Neos purpose. If not for her, who knows what door Neo would’ve chosen in Reloaded. She’s the one who sets him on the path of the One, when she resurrects him in M1.

First off, Burleyman, I would like to thank you for those outtakes from the script, even if others didnt. A great read.

Second, when I first heard she may die in revolutions, i didnt really care much. Now that I think about it, Trinity adds a lot to this movie. I never really noticed it untill this post, but she starts both movies off, with a bit of action too. And its usually forshadowing things to come. In M1 it was showing about the struggle with the Agents and the Rebels. I wonder if that is how M3 will start. But back to the point, now I think that she needs to survive. Although, i wouldn't be suprised if both her and Neo ended up dying in the Movie, considering they both did in the first two, each in they're turn of course. But overall, i hope both survive.

Icon> Trinity could very well “kick” off Revolutions (pardon the pun), the only problem is: How would she do that? At the end of Reloaded she’s onboard the Hammer with a comatose Neo. Of course, revolutions could start with her and Morpheus rushing to the Oracle to ask her what’s wrong with the One. But who should she fight?
I don’t think either would die in Revolutions. They both already did that. In true dystopian cyber-punk style they go out in a blaze of glory. But something as NON-cyber-punkish as love saves them both. The One will probably die, the anomaly will be assimilated. It doesn’t mean either of the “real”-world characters do.

DANG SHE CAN RIDE A BIKE!

Yeesh Jedi - wake up on the dark side did you?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. In some ways the film is "Hollywoodanized", in fact in more ways than many other hollywood films.

First, you have to understand that Hollywood is not just about making movies. It is also about creating other "revenue streams." For instance, every kids movie tries to do a tie in with some kind of Happy/Kids meal and action figures.

For the Matrix, you have these tie ins (and I am sure more):

1) Enter the Matrix Video Game
2) The Sunglasses worn by the Characters
3) Samsung Cell Phones
4) Cadillac (did you notice almost every car used in the freeway scene was a Cadillac?)
5) Ducati Motorcycles - Which just announced a limited edition "Matrix" bike
6) The Animatrix
7) : Coca-Cola’s Powerade, Best Buy and Heineken also had heavily promoted commercials using the characters

Revenue Streams.

On top of that, we all know about the plans for the Multiplayer video game which will come out later. WB has done a great job of taking a successful movie and developed a large following. To capitalize on that following, they are creating a MMG. I would not be surprised if the game cost $40-$60 to buy and after a certain period, you have to pay monthly for access to the game. Think about $5.00 a month from 1,000,000 people. That's $60,000,000 a year.

Got news for you. It is Hollywoodanized. More than you think.

take etm, animatrix, and matrix online off your list!! 😛
