The Official Shipping Debate Thread [merged]

Its not so much my ships not happening than it is those two ships happening, especially together. I don't like them, I don't find them realistic at all, they would be very unhealthy, and they would be very bad for the characters involved. Especially R/Hr. Both of them are horrible for each other. I can't read fics with them together. It squicks me so much.

That's really true star22. My friend is pretty obsessed with R/Hr, so when ever she writes an email to me, her signature will be a quote from some R/Hr fanfic, so every time I read them, I can't help but think, "That just sounds so sappy, and unrealistic" Of course, that doesn't stop me from being friends with her, just like how I won't stop reading the books IF that happens. Which is very unlikely. But even so, that won't stop me, and I can always turn to H/Hr fanfics if that happens. IF that happens.

Well ummm.... ~TheDeppFreak~, I thought it would have been easy to tell from the subject. ^_^" This is where fans of Harry Potter talk about their favorite ships, Harry/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, Hermione/Ron, Ron/Luna, Hermione/Draco, Ginny/Draco, etc. ANY ship is talked about here.

I agree with Star and Sailor, theres something about the R/Hr ship that rubs me the wrong way, not quite sure why, it kinda reminds me of a brother and sister getting together or something strange like that. H/Hr is personally the only thing that works for me, i'lll probably go into a deep depression if it doesn't happen. Well, maybe not deep, but i'll at least be sad for a few days 🙂

I see nothing bad with any pairing myself, but I am partial to H/G. I dont think H/Hr will happen, as it seems Ron and Hermione have a few scenes in the next film that shows they like each other.

Cool, are you talking about the whole yule ball thing in the 4th book? My theroy with that is this: Ron is all angry about krum and hermione, right? the thing is he reacts the exact same way when ginny has a boyfriend (that micheal c. something in OOTP). I see it all as much more brotherly and protective, because he reacts the exact same way with ginny as he does with hermione. Thats just my theroy about the whole krum incedent.

That scene can be interpreted in a number of different ways, except r/h shippers don't see the h/h point of view of it being protective and brotherly and some h/h shippers dont see the r/h point of view of it being romantic.

I am talking about an interview I saw with Rupert, and he said that his character and Hermione hold hands and stuff in the next movie. He was quoted as being embarrrassed by it.

I have posted about this before, but no one seems to know what I am talking about.

Yeah I've never heard of that. Thatd be weird tho, since that doesn't even come close to happening in the book. whatever, directors interpatation. :/

I haven't seen any previews for the fourth movie yet (we get everything late here in Japan; we used to get everything early!), but if you're saying they holding hands then well.... hmmmmm..... That might contridict with my "J.K. Rowling's say on the movies" theory, but since I haven't seen the previews, it could be supporting it. Maybe Ron likes Hermione but it doesn't work out? J.K. Rowling, like I said before (or it might have been on a different website where I said it, I'm not sure), could be dropping clues in the movie. Why wouldn't they let her? She wrote the books to begin with!

Sailor, we haven't seen any previews either. This is all just speculation about who said what... getting info through the grape vine basically, which has great potential to be warped. I think it would be strange if ron and hermione got together in any way in the GOF movie, considering how harry and hermione were holding hands for the whole second half of the movie. 😉

ooohh, i think i remember reading something like that (ron and hermione holding hands....ron being embarresed....) in one of the other threads on here. the one about the premiere or something bout "who gets the heat" or something like that....one of those two

Yeh the whole rumor started after some site reported that Rupert said something about it. Don't get mad at me for posting about it, though, as I didnt make it up or anything.
