As Sky walked out of the ship (a little late having meditating at the wrong time), she looked at the swamp water.
"Eww." she breathed quietly. She was used to clear, crisp water that shines under the sun. The lake's in Naboo were always like that.
She walked along a firm path and then walked straight into the water. The ground had looked firm. She sunk to the bellybutton before she leapt into the air like a scalded cat. She jumped all the way to where Roan was standing, and gripped his shoulder with surprising strength, as an attempt to keep from falling back in.
"It feels like cold vomit," she reported, shivering with disgust.

Frankly, Sky, you have NO idea who would be mad enough to build a fuel store in a place like this. I mean, LOOK at it, there is no firm ground for a structure anywhere!

"There is someything strange about this," she said sneaking up behind Xeth. "Who would build a fuel store on a place that doesn't have enough firm ground to support a ship?"
'Let alone a girl,' she thought to herself.

Presumably it could be drained and adjusted for colonisation if necessary. But a fully tooled expedition didn't get very far doing that; hard to see Kuylen's people doing any better on their own.

There must be some places on the planet more stable but you cannot see much around here.

Sky watched the cattle. They had odd tails, like that o a dolphin from earth (though there is no earth in the Star Wars Universe). Sky supposed htey had evolved tails like that, to help them swin through unstable areas of the marsh.

(Actually, I have a description of the cattle if you want to check them out... they do indeed have tails but I didn;t specifically describe them as dolphin like...)

Their build is not dissimilar to a cow. But their heads are very different- sort of a cross between a walrus and a frog, with almost a nozzle coming from their mouth. Their weighted down heads dangle near the water, where the nozzle protuberence sucks up water and nutrients from the swamp, before they give their heada a flick backwards with a kind of neigh-ing noise and the whole lot ends up in their mouth. Two sac-like things dangle near their mouth. One looks upa nd stares at you, dumbly.

Sky pattecd the disformed creature on the head and walks away. It kept following her, neighing stupidly.

Actually, when you pat it oin the head, something you did not expect happens.

Thw two sacs on the side inflate suddenly, ballooning outwards, and the creatuyre emits a piercing high-pitched shriek. OW!!! It then turns and sprints away, the alerted herd running with it.

That hurt. What's wroing with a roar or cry or something? Stupid planet...

Roan stands along side sky rubbing his temples,"Well that was interesting."

Sky covered her ears.
"Stupid planet," she said irratated. "I was half expecting those sacks to be full of venom."
She turned to Xethwho was giving her a 'you are a bad girl' look.
"Sorry." she said turning away.

*silver trust me the look you are getting from Xeth is nowhere near as bad as the look you're getting from marcus*

in a cool and gentle voice I say:"I wouldn't upset the wildlife anymore if I were you. I know you probably didn't expect that reaction. But this is NOT an exploration mission. This will probably be the most dangerous planet you have ever been on. So I suggest you don't start experimenting with wild or plant life."

"If you like to explore wild life so much I might be able to get you a small asignment Here once I get a chance to talk to the council."
*slightly sarcastic grin*

"Queer, isn't it? Seemed to only make that noise when you touched it, as if in self-defense...sounded odly like my sonic blaster set on high frequency when I'm not wearing my headgear..." says Xeth, lightening up on the scornful look. "Very queer..."

Well, it acted as a warning signal. It didn;t make a noise like any technology would.

The herd continues to skitter away.

Right now, though, this still leaves you mainly nowhere. There doesn't seem to be anything out here.

"Very queer..." Xeth says. "We should be near it...but...it's not here...hmm...maybe it's underground or something..."
